There's a great deal to do right here and Important West was certainly one of my favourite islands.  

Mallory Square is great and full of street entertainers and is ideal for those who like to people watch like me.  The street entertainment is some of the very best I've ever seen and even though the entertainers are quite forthright in asking for tips, they truly do earn their cash. The Ernest Hemmingway museum and former house can also be fantastic viewing.  For someone like me who is so interested in his life and work, it was like heaven.

The turtle hospital was extremely interesting and I truly enjoyed it.  Ill or injured turtles are taken to the hospital to allow them to become nursed back to good well being before being released in to the sea once more. The entire place is extremely educational and interesting.  Turtles are very stunning and fascinating animals, adults and kids love them.

The other animal location I visited was the dolphin rescue centre.  This is both educational and interesting because the sick and injured dolphins are nursed back to health and then released in to the sea again.  You are able to easily invest a couple of hours here and it's worth a visit.

When heading south out of marathan I went more than the 7 mile bridge.  When travelling you'll see some fantastic sea life like dolphins and turtles swimming freely in the water. 1 unfavorable was that there was nowhere to stop and take any photos but to become honest I will by no means neglect the fantastic images from the dolphins swimming side by side.
